The Viva Foundation is a Non-Profit and Public Benefit Organisation situated within Alaska, Mamelodi. Their strategy involves effectively addressing the communities felt and expressed needs. This hopes to be achieved by creating a secure hub within the informal settlement and basing it on familiar, traditional values namely: "The Village Concept".

The organisation has a working model and an excellent combination of managerial accountability, administration excellence and on-the-ground operations with a very high buy-in from its beneficiaries and benefactors alike.

The University of Pretoria works in collaboration with the Viva Foundation to try further their attempts in helping and sustaining the Alaskan Community around them.
